Terms of Service
These terms describe the rules for using DNS Tools and the limits of what it provides.
Draft status
Draft notice: this page is a plain-language draft pending review by the site owner and legal counsel. It is not yet final legal text and should not be relied on as such.
Wording that depends on the operator's legal identity, jurisdiction or commercial arrangements is marked as to be confirmed.
Who operates DNS Tools
DNS Tools is a product of Spectra Technologies India Private Limited (the operator) and is hosted on SpectraCloud (spectracloud.com). The operator's registered address, registration number and tax identifiers will be published on this page once the operator has confirmed them; none are stated here until then.
The service
DNS Tools provides external diagnostic checks of public DNS, email, network and website configuration, and delivers PDF reports to verified email addresses. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and only against domains and hosts you own or are authorised to review.
- Do not use the service to probe, harass or attack third parties.
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls or address restrictions, including attempts to direct checks at private or internal networks.
- Do not use automated means to place excessive load on the service.
- Do not submit someone else's email address for reports without their knowledge.
- Do not interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its administration.
Nature and accuracy of results
Results are produced by automated checks of public information at a point in time. They can be incomplete, affected by network conditions, caching, CDNs and rate limits, and may change a moment later. Where evidence is missing the service reports UNKNOWN rather than a conclusion.
Results are informational. They are not a penetration test, an audit, a compliance certificate or legal, security or professional advice. You are responsible for decisions you make and changes you apply, and should test changes and keep a rollback.
Reports
PDF reports are delivered only to an email address you have verified. Links and retrieval windows expire. Detailed remediation reports are available per the current offer shown when you request one; terms of any paid offer, if and when enabled, are to be confirmed and will be shown before you commit to anything.
Availability
The service is provided on an as-available basis. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, apply limits, or perform maintenance, without guaranteeing uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Intellectual property
The site, its text, design and software belong to the operator or its licensors. You may use reports you receive for your own internal purposes and share them with those who help you manage your domain. Powered-by attributions must not be removed. Third-party components keep their own licences.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is without warranties of any kind, and the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the results. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. The exact liability wording, governing law and venue are to be confirmed by the site owner and legal counsel.
Suspension and termination
We may restrict or block access if these terms are breached, if use threatens the service or other people, or if the law requires. You can stop using the service at any time.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; the page will show the date of the latest version. Questions can be sent using the contact method on the contact page. Refund questions are covered in the refund policy.
